A short bonus story featuring Emiliah and Gizmo
Raindrops plinked on Emiliah’s backpack as she stepped outside the school. The sky had turned into a grumpy gray blanket, and the wind tugged at her hoodie.
“I told Max I didn’t need an umbrella today,” she muttered.
Gizmo rolled beside her, his antenna bouncing. “Forecast accuracy: 12%. Max’s weather app is unreliable.”
A gust of wind flipped a teacher’s umbrella inside out.
“Looks like umbrellas don’t even work that well,” Emiliah said.
Gizmo’s eyes blinked. “Would you like to test that hypothesis?”
Before she could answer, Gizmo zipped behind a bench, pulled out a small folded contraption from his chest panel, and popped open a tiny umbrella made of snack wrappers and rubber bands.
“Is that from your emergency snack kit?” Emiliah asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Version 3.2,” Gizmo said proudly. “Now testing rain deflection properties.”
He rolled under the umbrella. The foil crinkled as water bounced off, then slid sideways — directly onto Emiliah’s shoe.
“Experiment result: Umbrella deflects rain. Onto teammates.”
Emiliah laughed and shook her foot. “Good to know. But maybe next time we build one big enough for two?”
“Agreed. Next upgrade: cuddle coverage mode.”
They shared a grin as the rain fell lightly around them, Gizmo humming quietly and Emiliah already sketching ideas in her notebook.

Lexie’s Lab Disaster (Almost)
When glitter attacks, Lexie strikes back — with ideas.
Lexie held up a bottle of glitter glue like it was radioactive.
“Who left this open near my science journal?” she demanded, glaring dramatically across the classroom.
Max looked up from under the table. “I was building a launcher, not decorating a cupcake.”
“Then why is there pink glitter in my wires?” she said, holding up her half-built circuit. Sparkles rained to the floor.
Robbie smirked. “Maybe Snugglo’s going through a sparkle phase.”
Gizmo rolled by, scanned the desk, and blinked. “Glitter density detected: 47%. Containment advised.”
Emiliah tried not to laugh. “Lex, we can clean it up. It’s not that bad.”
Lexie pointed to a trail of glitter footprints leading to Robbie’s chair. “Tell that to my circuits. And my dignity.”
But then Gizmo beeped again and projected a tiny rainbow light across her work table.
Everyone paused.
The glitter caught the light perfectly, making her tangled circuit look like a fairy-powered invention.
Lexie tilted her head. “Okay... that’s actually kind of cool.”
Robbie leaned in. “You invented SparkleBot.”
“I did not!” Lexie said — then grinned. “But maybe I will.”
